279: The Crimes of David Spanbauer

David Spanbauer was the type of serial killer and rapist that was never going to stop until he got caught. The unfortunate reality is that he had been caught after his first crimes, he had been sentenced to decades in prison... and yet he was released to continue to spread his horror where he makes up for lost time. David's crimes led to a  change in laws we just wish it hadn't been at the expense of innocent lives.

Evelyn Hartley was a studious and steadfast 15 year old girl, just living a normal life with her parents and siblings in La Crosse Wisconsin. One night she took a babysitting job for her father's co- worker (a college professor) and never returned. The disappearance is mysterious and the later confession even more mysterious.

Martha Moxley was only 15 years old when she was found brutally murdered in her own yard in a very affluent neighborhood in Connecticut. The case went unsolved for decades until books and probs into the case drew more attention to it and an arrest and conviction was made- but technically the murder still remains unsolved today.

18 year old Lloyd Bogle and 16 year old Patricia Kalitzke had been sweethearts for a little over a month when in January 1956 their lives were cut short while parking in a popular spot for lovers. At the time, there was very little evidence to go by to bring any closure to the hearts of the devastated families. It would take 65 years before that closure finally came.
