Join us for the unimaginable story of beautiful Morgan Patten as told to us by her amazing parents Steve and Renee Patten. Morgan was a talented, intelligent and family oriented woman with big plans for her future. On a trip to see her fiancé stationed in North Carolina just hours after texting her parents that she was headed to bed at her hotel...Morgan's parents are woken in the night by a police officer telling them that, Morgan had been killed in a high speed car accident with two other men. Morgan did not know these men, and never would have left willingly with them. There is more that needs looked into here, and Morgan's parents (and we at crime curious) want proper justice for their daughter.

Megan is bringing you her very first deep dive in a well known case from her educated perspective. It is not often that we bring heavily covered cases to the podcast but even if you have heard this case before, hopefully you will learn something from this legal perspective. Besty Faria was found dead by her husband in her home with a knife sticking out of her neck and her wrist cut nearly to the bone. Through manipulation and narrow focus of investigatory work Betsy's husband was wrongfully imprisoned for three and a half years. Then in 2016 a man named Louis Gumpenberger was shot dead by a woman named Pam Hupp. Hupps defense was not so well thought out this time however. Molly Young was a beautiful 21 year old with her entire life ahead of her. Until one fateful day in March 2012 when everything changed for Molly and her family. A phone call to the Carbondale Illinois 911 dispatch indicated that Molly had taken her own life via overdose. When EMT's arrive however, they recognize right away this is no overdose considering Molly had an obvious gunshot wound to the left side of her head. The details of this case will shock and horrify you, and hopefully inspire you to a call to action like it did for us.
